£2000 Government Scrappage Allowance
300,000 cars have now been scrapped or will be scrapped soon under the scheme, but the Scrappage Scheme has now been extended! An extra 100,000 has been added to the number of scrappage deals that the government will cover, taking it to 400,000 in total. Plus the qualifying dates for the age of the vehicle have been adjusted - a car must be first registered in UK on or before 29th Feb 2000 and vans must be first registered in the UK on or before 28th Feb 2002.
What is scrappage?
In exchange for having your old car or van scrapped you will receive a £2000 discount against a brand new, first registered to you, car or van (3.5 tonnes limit on vans). The government contributes £1000 and the manufacturer contributes the other £1000.
Macrae & Dick will organise the whole scrappage side of things for you! Current Scrappage Criteria for Qualification:
