Your choice of commercial vehicle affects the efficiency, productivity and profitability of your business. And making the right choice has never been as important.
That’s why the new Ford Transit has been further improved and updated: we’ve put more new technology in, so you can get more out.
For example, there’s a new, more powerful and highly efficient engine range which meets the stringent Stage V European emissions standards. You also have Smart Regenerative Charging, which only charges the battery when it needs it, plus an option on the ECO Pack of an Auto-Start-Stop system, which saves fuel (and money) whenever you have to stop.
Combined, these and many other innovations make the new Transit more fuel efficient, harder working and better looking than ever before.
New Euro Stage V diesel engines
A new range of highly efficient 2.2 Duratorq TDCi diesel engines powers the new Transit. Combined with Ford ECOnetic Technologies, they can both lower the cost of owning a Transit and reduce its impact on the environment. These advanced engines meet the stringent Euro Stage V emmissions standards, while still producing significantly more power and torque than the previous line up: from 100PS/310 Nm to 155 PS/385 Nm. Each engine has also been carefully developed to meet the needs of front, rear and all-wheel drive models.
Auto-Start-Stop
Working in conjunction with the new Duratorq Euro Stage V engines, this optional system can lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in heavy traffic. It automatically switches off the engine when idling, then re-starts it the instant you touch the clutch. Considering that a vehicle's engine is rarely used continually on city journeys, this fuel saving technology makes perfect sense in the real world.
Variable Nozzle Turbo
All the new Duratorq Euro Stage V engines come with a Variable Nozzle Turbo (VNT). This boosts engine torque and throttle response, giving a more responsive drive while also reducing emissions.
Coated Diesel Particulate filter (cDPF)
Using state-of-the-art technology, this feature reduces soot particles from the exhaust (particulates) by up to 95%. It's fitted as standard to all the new Duratorq Euro V engines.
Smart Regenerative Charging
When you slow down, this technology creates electrical energy that charges the vehicle’s battery. Unlike conventional systems it only charges the battery when it needs it, which can help save fuel and reduce emissions.
6-speed transmission
Now standard across the Transit range, this smooth-shifting 6-speed manual transmission helps reduce emissions and save on fuel costs. It also makes for a more relaxing drive.
Transit with ECOnetic technologies
A Transit with ECOnetic technologies can achieve a greater reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to a standard model. You can choose either a 350L long wheelbase front-wheel drive version, or a 280S short wheelbase front-wheel drive model. Both achieve low CO2 emissions of 189 g/km and 173 g/km respectively.(Based upon 62mph fixed limiter values)
ECO Pack
This helps you achieve even lower CO2 levels and fuel consumption than with the standard Transit. The ECO Pack includes the Auto-Start-Stop system, which automatically shuts down the engine when the vehicle is idling and restarts it when you're ready to pull away. This reduces fuel costs and emissions in heavy traffic. There's also a 70 mph switchable Speed Limiter.
Low rolling resistance tyres
These advanced tyres are designed to meet less resistance when rotating. As a result, they use less energy, which can help reduce fuel consumption even further.
